Fenugreek is a bit of a mixed bag! For some mamas it works well to increase breast milk production but for others it has no effect or even decreases milk production. It can also cause gassiness/stomach upset in mom and baby, lower blood sugar, cause a maple syrup smell in mom's sweat and urine and negatively impact the thyroid hormone. After analyzing the list of potential side effects, we decided to use alternative herbs that had a better safety profile. Also, Legendairy Milk was the creator of the fenugreek free movement. Fenugreek is in 95% of the products on the market and we offer the most unique alternatives.
